For the fourth consecutive year, care homes around the UK are gearing up to be part of National Care Home Open Day. This year it will be held on Friday, June 17th.

National Care Home Open Day is a major opportunity for individual care homes to ‘do their bit’ to help reinforce a positive image of care homes in the eyes of the wider community. The event is also a marvellous marketing opportunity.

With more than three months to go before the day itself, now is the time to start planning activities and generating local awareness of the event. The website – www.carehomeopenday.org.uk/ – has logos, template press releases and other resources, along with a host of ideas to help care homes make the most of this opportunity to engage with their local communities. The sector often complains of the negative image care homes are given by the media. National Care Home Open Day is a way to counteract this.
