Bristol-based charity Brunelcare has opened a specialist care unit at the 66-bed Deerhurst nursing home in Bristol. The new unit will expand Deerhurst’s Elderly Mentally Infirm (EMI) division to provide 24-hour nursing care for up to six more people living with dementia-related illnesses in the area. The opening follows a two-year appeal to raise £200,000 towards the cost of improving facilities at Deerhurst, including the creation of a sensory garden and the enhancement of living space.
