Major provider Barchester Healthcare has been awarded an Apprenticeship Commitment Certificate by the Learning and Skills Council. The company currently has more than 100 apprentices working throughout its care homes in a number of roles including caring, administration and catering roles. Barchester not only received the award for the number of apprentices but also due to its high completion rate for the industry. Barchester managing director Mike Parsons his company was keen to attract as many as possible to the care industry. “We provide a unique programme for our staff and give them the opportunity to work in hotel-like facilities, providing high quality residential and nursing care,” said Mr Parsons. “The award is especially gratifying coming so soon after our Hospitality Assured award and underlines Barchester’s focus on supporting expert staff to provide the best care for our residents.”
