Arti Poddar, operations director of Glasgow-based care home provider, Lambhill Court Ltd, has won the PWC Young Achiever of the Year Award, part of the 11th annual Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards. Arti worked as a care home volunteer before starting part-time work at the age of 16. She became operations director for Lambhill Court Ltd in January 2006, directly responsible for approximately 250 service users and 250 employees. Arti, aged 23, frequently meets with key area leaders, industry experts and political authorities, such as Glasgow City Council, to draw attention to concerns, and to improve quality in elderly care. Her most recent accomplishment sees her joining the Board of Directors of Aastha Broadcasting (UK) Ltd – part of Aastha International, a socio- spiritual, faith channel that boasts 100 million viewers daily.
