Auld joins Healthcare Homes

Charles Auld has joined the board of Essex-based Healthcare Homes as non-executive chairman. Mr Auld is a well respected figure in the healthcare sector, having led General Healthcare, the substantial acute and psychiatric hospital business, for more than 12 years as chief executive and chairman. During his time with General Healthcare he saw the company’s annual revenues grow from £180m to more than £700m, operating 47 acute hospitals as BMI Healthcare and 13 psychiatric hospitals as Partnerships in Care. Charles Auld has also been a member of various industry bodies including the NHS Modernisation Board and the Independent Healthcare Association. Healthcare Homes chief executive Richard Clough said Mr Auld had both the care and marketing background that would be invaluable in the company’s approach to the private market. “He has a wealth of experience and expert knowledge that will be a huge asset to our new company,” said Mr Clough. “We have a very focused programme of expansion and we aim to be one of t
