Back care project is given funding

The Royal College of Nursing, in partnership with Backcare and Arjo, has been awarded £50,000 as part of a government initiative to help promote better back care at work. The project, “Changing Practice – improving health”, will look at developing back injury prevention programmes for nursing staff in small and medium-sized nursing homes. Initially based in four nursing homes, information from the pilot project will enable the partners to develop a toolkit for the nursing and residential home sector, highlighting best practice for both employers and nursing staff.
