Baldrick enjoys Rowanberries

MHA’s new development, the Rowanberries assisted living scheme in Clayton, Bradford was officially opened last Friday by the actor Tony Robinson, who is well-known for playing Baldrick in Blackadder. Rowanberries offers 46 quality apartments, designed for independent living with 24-hour staffing on site to provide care and support to meet older people’s needs. Fourteen of the apartments are available to purchase or part-purchase, and the remainder are available to rent, including 10 apartments specifically for older people with dementia. The apartments have wheelchair access, and the kitchens and bathrooms have specialist design features. There is a 20-place day centre for local older residents, a restaurant, hair and beauty salon, a health and fitness suite and assisted bathrooms.  Rowanberries is also a centre of excellence for dementia. Tony Robinson recently made a documentary where he followed the last days of his mother Phyllis, who had dementia. Mr Robinson said he was very impressed with Rowanber
