Barchester Healthcare

Major provider Barchester Healthcare has been ranked number one in “The Sunday Times Deloitte Buyout Track 10 biggest”. The league table, which appeared in the Buyout Track 100 supplement, identifies the UK’s 10 biggest private equity-owned companies with fastest-growing profits (EBITDA) of more than £50m. This follows Barchester’s rankings in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 League (October 2006) and as one of the top 100 Best Companies to Work For (March 2006) in which Barchester was number two in the top 20 Best Big Companies list. Barchester has made over 20 care-home acquisitions, including the £525 million purchase of Westminster Healthcare in 2004. The Sunday Times noted that these 10 bigger companies have made a significant contribution to the economy. Since Barchester was founded in 1993 by Mike Parsons, the company has followed a vision to be the number one provider of high quality residential and nursing home care in the UK, offering exceptionally high standards of care, hotel-like facilities
