Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Kevin Arthur as corporate finance director. A chartered accountant, Mr Arthur worked for 11 years with Arthur Andersen, specialising in corporate finance and business reorganisations. He has been group financial controller for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, with responsibility for investor relations. In 1997 Mr Arthur was appointed finance director for the Akeler group of companies, which became the UK¹s biggest developer of out-of-town business parks. In 1998 the Akeler group was sold to the giant Security Capital Group and Mr Arthur became chief financial controller of the new group with operations throughout Europe. Southern Cross executive chairman John Moreton said Mr Arthur had been extensively involved in preparing the recent bid for Trinity Care. “His business experience will be of considerable benefit to Southern Cross as it prepares for its flotation,” Mr Moreton said.
