Call for single registration

Alzheimer’s Society chief executive Neil Hunt has said consideration should be given to registering all care homes to provide dementia care.

Speaking at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards in April, Mr Hunt said that, with one third of the UK’s 700,000 people diagnoed with dementia living in care homes, there was an increasing need for more provision of specialist dementia care by staff who were appropriately trained.
