Care Forum Wales honours role models

Last month, high achievers of the social care sector in Wales were recognised for their dedication, commitment and professionalism in the first Care Forum Wales awards. The awards were the highlight of the forum¹s 10th anniversary dinner where Welsh Assembly minister for health and social services Jane Hutt joined Care Forum Wales¹ head of policy and public affairs Mario Kreft on stage to pay tribute to the individuals described as “true champions” of the sector. Winners were: Care practitioner award, sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland: Patricia Williams of High Pastures nursing home in Deganwy. Independent sector nurse award, sponsored by DLA: (joint winners) Margaret Langford of Pendine Park nursing home in Wrexham, Denise Kirby of Nant-Y-Gaer nursing home in Wrexham, Joan Price of Mill Heath care home in Cwmbran. Registered manager award, sponsored by Westminster Healthcare: Jean Davies of Hillcroft residential home in Cardiff. Special achievement award, sponsored by Hallmark Healthcare: Neville Pearce
