Care home fees – an open market working effectively

A report has recently been published by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) into the levels of fees charged by care homes. The report has made certain findings:

  • There is strong variation in fees across the country.
  • Private payers appear to subsidise local authority fees.
