Care homes sold in the North East

The Newcastle office of property agents Christie & Co has reported the completed sale of Monks Haven residential care home in Cullercoats, North Shields, Tyne & Wear. Situated midway between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay, Monks Haven is an attractive, three-storey, terraced property with a prime seafront position overlooking Cullercoats Bay. The care home is registered for 33 elderly residents, offering accommodation in 27 single and three double bedrooms. It trades with very high occupancy levels. Christie & Co acted for Mrs Joan Regan, who is retiring after owning and operating the care home for six years. The purchaser, Dr R George from Jesmond, already owns Acorn House residential home in North Shield. Monks Haven was offered for sale at an asking price of £460,000 and was sold for an undisclosed figure. Christie & co¹s Newcastle office has also announced the sale of Burnside Lodge in Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, on behalf of Mr Malcolm Burns to Mr G Carus of local company, Tyne Tees Entertainments.
