Care UK appoints specialist care director

Care UK has appointed John Turk as managing director of specialist care services, a division which includes learning disabilities, mental health, and children1s care services, and which generated turnover of £36.7m in 2004. Mr Turk will be responsible for the development of recent acquisitions Corvedale Care and Althea Park, which operate specialist residential care for children and eating disorders/self harm services respectively. In addition he will be responsible for Care UK’s residential and community-based learning disability and mental health care services. He joins the company from renal products and clinics operator Gambro Hospal Ltd where he was managing director, responsible for Gambro’s UK business. His previous experience includes senior positions in the aviation and pharmaceutical sectors.
