CareTech upgrades Rickmansworth facility

Specialist care provider CareTech has opened a new care home for 12 young people with learning disabilities in Rickmansworth, to the west of London. The property, consisting of two self-contained flats, has been comprehensively renovated at a cost of more than £600,000. Created specially for school leavers with autistic spectrum and complex behaviours, the facility is fully wheelchair accessible. Each resident has their own room with ensuite facilities and there are two high-tech specialist bathrooms. The project has been developed in partnership with the local authority and seven residents are currently in place. A further 15 young people are being assessed for placement later in the year. CareTech was listed on the AIM market in 2005 and the management team is already well on the way to meeting market expectation with this project, and a number of other developments in the pipeline.
