Castleoak completes Ridgemount ahead of schedule

Specialist contractor Castleoak Construction has handed over a new care home for 60 elderly residents in Banstead, Surrey four weeks ahead of schedule. Built on the site of an existing home which had to be replaced, Ridgemount is the third Castleoak project within the reprovision programme being carried out by Anchor Trust for Surrey County Council. Ridgemount residents will shortly move into the new three-storey home from Elizabeth Court in Caterham where they stayed while work was underway. Castleoak says the residents were closely involved in the selection of finishes and furniture for their new home. The £2.7m contract involved the design and build of a 60 bed residential care home as well as the provision of all the necessary furniture, fittings and equipment. The accommodation is arranged into five group living units of 12 ­ one of which has been specifically designed for residents with dementia ­ and all residents have single ensuite bedrooms with shower facilities.
