Consultation on improving care about to close

Care providers, carers, local councils, and the voluntary sector have until December 2 to respond to a consultation launched at the end of September by health secretary Andrew Lansley.
Caring for Our Future: Shared ambitions for care and support will discuss priorities for improving the care and support system.
It is expected to be followed by a White Paper in spring 2012, alongside a progress report on funding reform, with a view to introducing legislation at the earliest opportunity.
A website has been set up to publish up-to-date information as the engagement process proceeds and provide a facility for members of the public to respond with their comments.
