Coverage Care invests in upgrades

A multi-million pound refurbishment programme involving five residential care homes for elderly people in Shropshire is progressing on schedule. Coverage Care (Shropshire) Ltd, which runs nine homes in Shropshire, is investing nearly £1 million in each of the homes. Work on Fairholme, a 40-bed home at Oswestry, is scheduled by contractor Pickstock Ltd for completion in September and Westlands, a 40-bed home at Wem, is due to see work by contractors Welch & Phillips Ltd completed in October. Stone House at Bishops Castle, which has 41 residents, is also being given a major facelift with Frank Galliers Ltd, of Shrewsbury, aiming to complete work in December. Contractor EG Carter Ltd, of Worcester, is working towards an end of year completion date for Farcroft in North Road, Wellington, which has 40 residents. The work involves the main entrance being moved from the front to the side of the building to improve access, and the construction of a new kitchen.
