Dorgard recruits former fire chief

Dorgard Ltd, manufacturers of the Dorgard electronic fire door stay, has appointed fire professional Bob Docherty to its consultancy team. Dorgard says Dr Docherty, who has recently retired as director of fire safety with Strathclyde Fire Brigade, brings a wealth of experience in new fire safety legislation and fire prevention to his role. “Bob¹s 32 years in the fire service will prove invaluable in our programme to promote the benefits of Dorgard in the marketplace, particularly in the light of the UK Work Place Regulations (Fire Precautions), which now place responsibility for fire safety in premises firmly on employers,” said Dorgard chief executive Neil Purssey. Dr Docherty¹s responsibilities include liaising with relevant personnel in brigades and local authorities throughout the UK, raising awareness of fire safety issues, and identifying market opportunities for Dorgard. His expertise will also assist Dorgard¹s team with the interpretation of standards, product targeting, and future development stra
