Dorset wins bid for assisted living cash

Care services minister Ivan Lewis has announced which sites will benefit from £80m of government funding to build extracare housing for older people, and Dorset County Council has been successful in a bid to fund a scheme in Blandford Forum.

The bid for £1.75m of Department of Health funding as made in a partnership between the County Council, North Dorset District Council, the housing provider Synergy, Dorset Age Partnership and Dorset Primary Care Trust.
