‘Fit for the Future’ – deadline for responses is extended

In response to pressure from care home owners the Department of Health has extended the deadline for responses to the consultation paper on proposed national standards – “Fit for the Future” – to January 21. Speaking at a conference organised by Laing & Buisson in late November, DoH project officer Trish Davies said the deadline had been formally extended to allow more time for responses to be received, given that many care home owners had experienced delays in obtaining a copy of the consultation document. “We have printed more copies of “Fit for the Future” and the document can be downloaded from the internet,” Ms Davies said. “Fit for the Future can be accessed on the internet at – http://www.doh.gov.uk/pub/docs/doh/fitfuture.pdf
