These include transport for meals on wheels and for staff and contractors providing homecare for elderly and other vulnerable people. Other priority services identified by the LGA include: the fire service, education, waste disposal and heating for day and residential care services. The Home Office has contacted all councils to gather information on the situation around the country and discussions are taking place with emergency planning advisers.
