A Gold Care Homes project to build a 63-bed care home is under way in Hertfordshire on the five-acre grounds of the company’s existing Heath Lodge care home in Welwyn, with â£3.7m in funding from NatWest.

Gold Care Homes is led by brothers and managing directors Ravi and Sukhi Gidar, both pharmacists who diversified into nursing homes in the early 1990s. Today the business comprises seven care homes throughout Southern England. The homes, with about 380 beds in total, provide specialist dementia care and care for older people.
