Good pictures and illuminating words

Collections of pictures for stimulating memories and conversation are hardly novel, but two new series on the market are fresh and different, both well worth buying for any care home.

‘Many Happy Returns’ is an inspired collection of large picture cards depicting a wonderful variety of British life in the 1940s. On the back of each picture card is information about the picture and some questions that could lead to a lively conversation. The images are carefully and imaginatively selected, and beautifully reproduced.
