HICA restructure creates property arm

Originally formed to operate former local authority care homes in the North East, HICA has been restructured under its parent company, HICA Ltd. The not-for-profit organisation has evolved over a decade and has grown at a considerable rate. From its core business activities HICA has developed complementary services, including the introduction of domiciliary care and, most recently, the launch of a property development arm. To accommodate these services and clearly delineate its various operating divisions, HICA Ltd serves as an umbrella for HICA Care Homes, HICA HomeCare Services and HicaLife Developments Ltd. HICA Care Homes owns and manages 25 residential care properties for older people and adults with learning disabilities and is the region¹s biggest independent care home provider. Within the new company structure, Stephen Hodges is now director of operations and developments, with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the care home division. He will continue to act as deputy chief executive. T
