Homecare providers merge to achieve economy of scale

North Yorkshire care provider Carewatch has expanded operations in Ryedale through a merger with Malton-based care provider Simply the Best. The buy-out will see Carewatch take on the services provided by Simply the Best to around 30 clients in Malton. Carewatch managing director Mike Padgham said said the deal would help Carewatch to expand and improve on the quality of care it provided. “Simply the Best has a fantastic reputation, provides excellent care and has excellent staff,” said Mr Padgham. “Carewatch is following the national trend of expansion. We have to grow to survive in this market place. The more we grow, the more economies of scale help us to cover our basic costs of training and regulations and grow to provide high quality services to more clients.” Carewatch (North and East Riding of Yorkshire) is a Scarborough-based company, providing a spectrum of care services – predominantly homecare – in Scarborough and Filey, Bridlington, Driffield, Beverley, Goole, Whitby and Malton.
