| Care home resident charged with murder |

| Dec 19: A care home resident living in Dartmouth has been charged with murder following the death of another resident in the home. 82 year-old Peter Woodroof was remanded in custody after appearing at Torquay Magistrates' Court, held in a custody suite at the town's police station. Ivy Hawken, 92, was found dead at Hyne Town House home in Dartmouth on December 16. Woodroof appeared at Plymouth Crown Court on January 11 where no plea was taken.
