Mike Wood, a former partner in a care home and a domiciliary care agency in Lancashire, and past Vice Chairman of the National Care Association (NCA) and long time member of its Board of Directors passed away on 11 December 2009 following a long illness.
Nadra Ahmed, Chairman of the NCA said: 'In all ways Mike was a larger than life personality and during his time as Vice Chairman he was steadfast in his support of the National Care Association and me. I will miss him as a friend and as a stalwart of the NCA.
Sheila Scott, NCA Chief Executive added: 'Mike was the wisest of men and no matter how significant the challenge he was always able to offer the best of advice in the calmest of manners. Our thoughts are with Mike's wife Jan and their sons at this tragic time.'
