| SCIE’s Jones awarded CBE |

Julie Jones, chief executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) has been awarded a CBE in the New Year's Honours List 2010.
Speaking about the announcement Ms Jones says: 'Obviously I am surprised and delighted. It is a real honour and I also take it as a recognition of the crucial work carried out by the social care sector.'
Ms Jones joined SCIE in 2007.
The New Year's Honours also included a Knighthood for Andrew Dillon, CBE, Chief Executive, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for services to Healthcare; a CBE for Imelda Redmond, Chief Executive, Carers UK, for services to Disadvantaged People; an OBE for Elizabeth Atere-Robert, an Older People's Nurse Specialist, for services to Healthcare in London; an OBE for Ann Mackay, a Policy Adviser with the English Community Care Association (ECCA), for services to Social Care and an OBE for Ann Parr, a Community Care Development Manager for Age Concern in Woodley, Reading, for services to Older People.
