|
Caring Times, February 2010
|
_Caring Times_ and the_ Journal of Dementia Car_e are delighted to announce that the 3rd Annual National Care Homes Congress will take place from 23rd - 24th June 2010 at the fantastic Clarendon Suites in Birmingham.
The purpose of the event is to offer management an unique opportunity to get together, network and examine and report on the evidence for what should be happening in care homes. The Congress benefits from the support of all four of the main provider organisations, ECCA, NCA, NCF and RNHA and is also supported by the West Midlands Care Association.
The Congress, which has been a huge success since its inception in 2008, will be held in Birmingham over two days, starting with two plenaries to which everyone will be invited.
The plenaries will be followed by four parallel sessions for the rest of the days on a wide range of topics ranging from creating the best environments to making the right management decisions, safeguarding residents, end of life strategies, dementia, and common physical and mental health issues.
We invite abstracts of proposed papers, on any aspect of support, care and treatment for people requiring care, their families and care staff, in a care home setting.
The following themes should be taken into account when developing proposals:
o Change (political, economic and regulatory)
o Best practice in clinical care
o Key management advances
o Advances in clinical care
o Maximising revenue, minimising costs
o Recruitment and retention
o Training
