| Wallsall rest home sold to Select Lifestyles |

Acting on behalf of vendor Mrs B Purmah, Christie + Co has sold the freehold interest of Glenyon Rest Home in Walsall, to Select Lifestyles, the specialist care home operator, for an undisclosed sum.
Located in the Stonnall area of the town, the home has 13 rooms, five of which are ensuite.
The staff and residents of Glenyon have relocated to a new home, Angel Court in Walsall, which has a wide-ranging registration including Dementia, Physical Disability and Sensory Impairment. In the meantime, Glenyon will undergo an extensive internal alteration and refurbishment programme and will reopen as a specialist learning disability unit in March 2010.
Formed in 2007, Select Lifestyles, which offers innovative, day, nursing and residential care to adults with learning disabilities, currently operates five services based in the Midlands.
Andrew Little from Christie+Co's Birmingham Office said: 'Mrs Purmah was privately offered the possibility of acquiring a substantially larger home in nearby Walsall which, whilst purpose-built, was not operational. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, Mrs Purmah needed to find a purchaser for Glenyon who required the building, but not the business.
Funding for Mrs Purmah's purchase was arranged by David Ward of Christie Finance, Christie + Co's sister company. David commented: 'Despite the cautiousness of the banks during the recession, we were able to find a lender who was willing to support the business by helping with its relocation and to assist in its growth.'
