Meridian acquires three Merseyside care centres

Meridian Healthcare has acquired three Merseyside care centres from Cornerstone Care, The three centres have a 91 single bed capacity in total and consist of The Connaughtons, Kirkby House and Fazackerley House, all situated in the borough of Knowsley, Merseyside. The acquisition is in line with Meridian Healthcare’s strategic objective of building care centres outside its core business in the Tameside area. The group now has a total of 914 beds spanning the Tameside Care and Meridian Care operations. Over the last six years, Meridian’s property portfolio has benefited from considerable inward investment. The group expects to continue to invest in all its properties, including the newly purchased homes. Managing director Alan Firth said: “The three care centres will need substantial investment, but we are committed to provision of quality services and facilities and have refurbishment and upgrade plans in place for all the properties.” Mr Firth views this purchase as a further step towards the group’s ambitio
