Meridian staff fast-tracked to assessment success

Staff at Meridian Healthcare’s Stamford Court and Holme Lea have achieved their NVQ assessor course in record time. The course has been successfully completed by care centre manager at Stamford Court, Christine Evans, care assistant Lisa Embury also from Stamford Court and care assistant Christopher Wright from Holme Lea. On finishing the fast-track 12 week course, which usually takes 10 months to complete, they are now able to provide in-house training to other members of staff working towards their NVQ qualifications. Care centre manager at Stamford Court, Christine Evans said staff had found the course challenging but were delighted to have achieved the qualification. “The assessments, training days and extra work involved made the assessor course extremely hard work,” said Ms Evans. “The benefits that it brings to our staff makes it all worthwhile, Lisa already has an NVQ candidate who she is training. It means better qualifications for our staff and consequently maintains the high standard of car
