More concern over waste disposal contract terms

In recent weeks, _Caring Times_ has once again received a number of phone calls, emails and letters from care home operators who have reported their unhappiness with the dealings they have had with the waste removal company PHS Allclear. _Caring Times_ first reported on PHS Allclear in our issue of June 2003, after we were contacted by two care home owners who complained of what they considered to be unreasonable increases in charges levied by PHS Allclear for that company’s clinical waste disposal services, and for the unfair terms of the company’s service contracts. In the month following the publication of this article, _Caring Times_ was contacted by at least 27 other care home operators who said they had experienced similar difficulties with the company, ie large, arbitrary increases in charges and unreasonable inflexibility in enforcing the contract terms. This was the biggest unsolicited response ever received by this magazine, and we reported this in a follow-up article in the July/August issue of Car
