Moving and handling equipment – Centromed celebrates 20 years

Started in 1982 by Kenneth Oliver with one product, Centromed is celebrating its twentieth year as a manufacturer of moving and handling equipment. That first product, the mattress variator, is still being sold, along with a range of moving and handling equipment which includes mattress variators, pillow lifters, leg lifters, turning assistors, bespoke beds and chairs. Centromed¹s current chief executive is Cheryl Hollis (Mr Oliver¹s daughter), who took the reins of the company in 1990. “Our company philosophy is Å’Caring for your comfort and improving quality of life¹, for clients and for carers,” Ms Hollis said. “We have strived to achieve this from day one, and with two decades¹ worth of experience trading in the moving and handling field we have built up a range of products which truly make a difference to people¹s lives.
