New builds and the environment

TONY FARNSWORTH, head of design at Castleoak Care Partnerships, a design and build company working exclusively in the field of social care for older people, takes a look at one of the hottest topics of the moment.

In the same way that life imitates art so what happens in the field of social care mirrors much of what is happening in the wider community.

If ever a topical issue corroborated this, it must be the current hot potato of the environment. In the same way that you can no longer pick up a newspaper or turn on the news channels without coming across some mention of environmental concerns, so too these days it is impossible to meet with care home operators who aren’t quizzing us on what we think might be happening next.
