New cleaning giant created by takeover

Johnson Wax Professional has completed its acquisition of DiverseyLever, formerly Unilever¹s institutional and industrial cleaning business. The acquisition creates the second biggest company in the institutional and industrial market with approximately $2.6 billion in annual sales. The acquisition combines two leaders in the global cleaning and sanitation industry with complementary product platforms and very little market overlap. Johnson Wax Professional has strength in floor care and housekeeping, while DiverseyLever brings strengths in warewashing, laundry and food processing/sanitation. As part of the consolidation, the newly formed company is changing its name to Johnson Diversey Inc to reflect the integrated approach it will take toward servicing its customers around the world. “The new name represents a coming together of strengths, capabilities, values and aspirations,” the company said.
