New vocational mental health qualification
The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) has launched the first ever fully accredited vocational qualification in mental health care in the UK for residential and nursing home support staff. The new Certificate in Community Mental Health Care was developed by the Mental Health Foundation together with Pavilion Publishing and City & Guilds Affinity. The MHF describes the vocational qualification as being designed specifically for support staff working in community settings, including support staff working in residential and nursing homes who come into direct contact with people with mental health problems. The course, certificated by City & Guilds, will be run in a number of colleges and by employers around the UK.
