New vocational mental health qualification

Posted on October 1st, by editor in Caring Times. No Comments

The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) has launched the first ever fully accredited vocational qualification in mental health care in the UK for residential and nursing home support staff. The new Certificate in Community Mental Health Care was developed by the Mental Health Foundation together with Pavilion Publishing and City & Guilds Affinity. The MHF describes the vocational qualification as being designed specifically for support staff working in community settings, including support staff working in residential and nursing homes who come into direct contact with people with mental health problems. The course, certificated by City & Guilds, will be run in a number of colleges and by employers around the UK. For further information, visit the web site at www.mentalhealth.org.uk/certificate, or contact Seamus Ellis or Loretta Harrison at Pavilion Publishing on Tel: 01273 623222, or City & Guilds customer services on Tel: 020 7294 2800.
