Ozone technology banishes odours

Simultaneously sterilising and deodorising indoor air, the new high-performance Neutrazone range from Airstream is billed as a low maintenance route to a safer, healthier environment. Its makers say Neutrazone breaks down airborne and surface bacteria and biological odours by treating the airspace with a carefully controlled level of ozone, a gaseous, naturally-occurring form of oxygen. Ozone is a powerful oxidising agent, which reverts in half an hour or so to atmospheric oxygen, pure and simple ­ eliminating the material and replacement costs associated with “air freshener” liquids and synthetic chemicals which are potentially harmful to the environment. All this is achieved at ozone dosing levels of less than 0.1 parts per million ­ less than half the relevant Health & Safety Executive¹s safe maximum level.
