Patel parts company with Priory

Priory Group chief executive Dr Chai Patel has resigned, along with the specialist care provider’s chief financial adviser David Spruzen and operating officer Paul Greensmith. The market has speculated that the trio’s departure is apparently in response to recent expressions of dissatisfaction with Priory’s performance by the company’s Dutch owner ABN Amro who are understood to have paid £875m for Priory in 2005. Priory’s former non-executive chairman Hans Michel is now acting as chief executive until a replacement is found. “Dr Patel, David Spruzen and Paul Greensmith have all played a huge part in the growth of the Priory Group and they have our best wishes for the future,” said Mr Michel.
