Planning submitted for Birmingham’s biggest care home

A planning application has been submitted to create what will become one of the Midland’s biggest care homes on the site of the once famous Birmingham golf ball factory – Penfolds on Bromford Lane in Erdington.

Outline planning consent has been granted to the mixed use developer Barteak Developments Ltd for a £20 million scheme comprising high-tech business units and a substantial 80-bed care home. With a deal about to be signed by an as yet un-named major provider (one of the three biggest); the developer has resubmitted a planning applic
