The Care Providers Alliance (CPA), a coalition of a range of the care sector’s representative bodies, has appointed Dame Denise Platt as its ‘Red Tape Champion’.
Martin Green, chief executive of the English Community Care Association and the current chair of the CPA, said Dame Denise had unrivalled experience of the care sector and was respected by both the sector and the Government.
“She is known to be both scrupulously fair and totally committed to improving services for the people that rely on them and their carers,” said Mr Green.
“In her new role as our Red Tape Champion we are confident that she will use her skills and knowledge to help the Government and the sector to reduce bureaucracy, and to focus our energies on service delivery.”
Dame Denise Platt was chair of the previous social care regulator –  the Commission for Social Care Inspection
