Protection for whistleblowers

An announcement that public interest whistleblowers will receive full compensation has been welcomed by supporters of the Public Interest Disclosure Act. The charity Public Concern at Work said the compensation amendment to the Employment Relations Bill would ensure that all workers were fully protected when they blew the whistle. Guy Dehn, the charity’s director, said employers should review their arrangements for whistleblowing and check that their contracts comply bwith the new Act.
