Provider questions Cumbria’s plans to build new care homes
. . . and looks abroad for new opportunities
Care and nursing home provider the Executive Care Group is urging Cumbria County Council to postpone its plans to build six new care homes, at least until existing beds in the region are filled.
Jennifer Houghton, chief executive of the group, which operates about 20 care homes for private and council-funded residents across the UK, said she was surprised that the council was planning to build new properties when beds across the region were standing empty.
