Radio plug gave boost to morale

A dual registered home in South Yorkshire has gained some positive publicity with help from a local radio station. Matron-manager Sylvia Forster nominated her 40-bed Belle Green Court care home in Barnsley as “work place of the day”. This involved choosing three records to be broadcast during the day by Magic AM Sheffield. “I submitted our nomination and our home was chosen,” said Mrs Forster, who was named Care Marketeer ¹99 in last year¹s Care Awards, organised by Caring Times. “Belle Green Court was mentioned on the radio throughout the day. Staff were mentioned by name and residents were wished a nice day. “It went to air on Good Friday and staff were praised for doing a good job so it was a good morale booster. Staff and residents said they appreciated the idea.” Mrs Forster said she believed the coverage had been a good marketing strategy as numerous people had mentioned hearing Belle Green Court mentioned as “work place of the day”. “Our 100% occupancy continues so we must be doing a good job,” she s
