Recognition for sector’s top performers

_Caring Times_ congratulates the companies from the residential care sector which featured in the ‘Britain’s 250 biggest mid-market private companies’ list, published recently in the Sunday Times.

Four Seasons Health Care were in 29th place with sales of £414.4m, compared with £361.9m the previous year. Operating profits were £6.8m. The company owns and operates more than 400 care homes for both the elderly and people with mental health problems. It also has a division catering for those with learning disabilities, brain injuries and special needs.

Barchester Healthcare also ranked highly, coming in at number 41. The company, which employs more than 13,000 staff, had sales this year of £381.6m, an increase of £31m on sales the previous year (operating profit £25m). Barchester Healthcare was set up by founder/director Mike Parsons in 1993 and is now majority owned by Manchester United entrepreneurs John Magnier and JP McM
