Regulator reports increase in adult protection referrals

In its annual monitoring report on Welsh local authorities performance in relation to adult protection, the Care and Social Services Inspectorate (CSSIW) says the number of adult protection referrals and the workload associated with this has continued to increase.

A key finding of the report is that the largest number of referrals across Wales over a number of years were consistently for older people, followed by those for people with learning disabilities. The chief inspector for CSSIW, Rob Pickford said the protection of vulnerable people remained a core
