Safety valve stops scalding

Staffordshire-based building services component specialist Altecnic has supplied anti-scald mixing valves to the Lions Hospice in Kent as part of a building refurbishment programme. The Altecnic Mixcal Caremix MX is a thermostatic mixing valve, complete with combined ball valve, check valve, filter and test point and has been installed on all of the washbasins at the hospice. The company visited the site to carry out a full specification and provided advice on which equipment was needed to ensure the safety of the residents. Designed for use at facilities such as Lions Hospice, care homes and hospitals, the Altecnic Mixcal Caremix MX has been tested and approved by the WRc as a class 3 valve and meets the performance requirements of the National Health Service ­ Model Engineering Specification ­ D08 and B57294: 2000.
