Sandown calls in receivers

Residential and nursing care provider the Sandown Group has been placed in administrative receivership. Based in Denbighshire, Sandown has operated 45 care homes, mainly as a leasehold tenant, in Northern Ireland and England. Sandown managing director Peter Moran told Caring Times that financial difficulties had prompted the group to call in the receivers but declined to comment on the causes of group¹s straitened circumstances. He said Sandown owned another company which was still operating a care home. “The receivers will appoint managers for the care homes,” Mr Moran said. “I believe they are in discussion with Idun/Tamaris regarding the future of the care homes.”
