SCIE post for Shokat Babul

Care Forum Wales chairman Shokat Babul has been appointed to the board of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE). Mr Babul will serve as a SCIE board member to the SCIE for two years. “I welcome this considerable opportunity to contribute to the further development of high quality care in Wales and the UK as a whole,” said Mr Babul, 51, who has spent most of his working life in the social care industry. The SCIE aims to make a contribution to improving the quality and consistency of social care practice and provision by gathering and reviewing the knowledge of what works in social care, and putting it into accessible formats for staff and service users. Established last year, SCIE is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Mr Babul has been chairman of Care Forum Wales ­ the umbrella organisation representing all independent sector providers of health and social care services for adults and children throughout Wales ­ for two years. “There are a number of big challenges facing the care homes
